Why glutamates food checker matters
Glutamates, including MSG, are flavor enhancers found naturally in many foods and added to others. Some people report sensitivity causing headaches, flushing, or other symptoms, though research on 'MSG syndrome' is mixed.
- MSG goes by many names - look for 'glutamate' on labels
- Naturally high in soy sauce, fish sauce, and aged cheeses
- Tomatoes and mushrooms are naturally high in glutamates

Serving size, prep, and portion notes for sunflower oil
Refined sunflower oil is one of the cleaner oils on the food-chemistry side: it is low FODMAP, carries essentially no histamine, salicylate, lactose or gluten, and is fine for nightshade, nickel and sulfite sensitivity. The one honest catch is inflammation. It is a refined, omega-6-heavy seed oil, so if you are trying to lower your omega-6 load a different fat is a better daily driver. It is not a chemical trigger, but it is not the anti-inflammatory choice olive oil is.
Watch for
High in omega-6 fat as a refined seed oil, so it leans mildly pro-inflammatory if it is your main cooking oil day in, day out (an inflammation-diet note, not a sensitivity trigger) / The fresh refined oil is neutral on histamine, but high-heat frying and reused frying oil oxidise the fat, which is a separate reason heavy fried-food eaters can feel worse / High-oleic sunflower oil is a different, more olive-oil-like fat than standard high-linoleic sunflower oil, so the label is worth reading
