Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• Service means the Triggerbites mobile application, website, and related services
• Company, We, Us means Triggerbites and its operators
• You, User means the individual accessing or using the Service
• User Content means any images, photographs, text, voice recordings, metadata, or other content uploaded, submitted, or transmitted by you through the Service

2. Description of Service

Triggerbites is a food diary and symptom tracking application that helps users identify potential food triggers. The Service includes AI-powered food recognition, symptom logging, pattern analysis, and a curated ingredient database with food sensitivity classifications.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 17, you may only use the Service with consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Health Disclaimer

Triggerbites does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• All trigger identifications and pattern analyses are automated approximations
• The Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease
• Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for dietary or medical guidance
• We are not liable for decisions made based on information from the Service

5. User Content

You retain ownership of your diary entries and personal data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your User Content to:

• Provide food-symptom tracking and analysis features
• Improve the Service through anonymized, aggregated insights
• Sync your data across your devices

We do not sell your personal data or use your diary entries for advertising.

6. Intellectual Property & Data Protection

The Triggerbites ingredient database, including food attributes, sensitivity classifications (histamine, FODMAPs, gluten, salicylates, etc.), and nutritional data, represents significant research effort and is proprietary information.

You may not:

• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract ingredient data
• Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the ingredient database
• Build competing products using data obtained from Triggerbites
• Access the API or backend services in unauthorized ways
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

All rights in the Service (excluding User Content) are owned exclusively by the Company.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload harmful, offensive, or infringing content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Use the Service for competitive analysis or benchmarking

8. Subscriptions & Payments

Purchases and subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Their respective terms govern payment processing, renewals, and refunds. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that food identifications or trigger analyses will be accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data or health outcomes. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the preceding 12 months or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account and data at any time through the app settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
