Salt is not a food-chemistry trigger at all. Sodium chloride carries no histamine, salicylate, FODMAP, oxalate or gluten, so it is safe across every sensitivity this journal tracks. Its only real dimension is sodium: for blood pressure the DASH pattern asks you to keep total sodium down. One common mix-up worth clearing up is MSG, monosodium glutamate, which is a glutamate source and a separate trigger from plain salt.
