Why aip diet checker matters
The Paleo Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) is an elimination diet designed to reduce inflammation and heal the gut in people with autoimmune conditions. It removes grains, legumes, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, and nightshades during the elimination phase.
- Elimination phase removes all potentially inflammatory foods
- Focus on nutrient-dense foods: organ meats, bone broth, vegetables
- Reintroduce foods one at a time after 30-90 days
- Sleep, stress management, and movement are part of the protocol
- Work with a practitioner experienced in autoimmune protocols

What to know about peanuts
The classic peanut allergy is a true IgE food allergy that can be life-threatening and is completely separate from the food-chemistry triggers here. On the intolerance side, peanuts are high in oxalates, moderately high in salicylates and nickel, and high in lectins. So beyond the allergy, peanuts can drive kidney-stone risk, salicylate reactions or a nickel flare, which is why some people who are not allergic still feel worse after them.
Watch for
- A separate IgE peanut allergy can be severe and is not the same as the food-chemistry triggers below; if you have a diagnosed allergy, strict avoidance is the only safe approach
- High in oxalates, which raises calcium-oxalate kidney-stone risk and matters on a low-oxalate diet
- Moderately high in nickel, a common trigger for systemic nickel allergy flares
- Moderately high in salicylates and high in lectins, either of which can cause symptoms in sensitive people
