Why vegetarian diet checker matters
A vegetarian diet excludes meat and fish but may include dairy products and eggs. It focuses on plant foods with optional animal-derived products like milk, cheese, and eggs.
- Eggs and dairy can help meet protein needs
- Include a variety of plant proteins for balanced nutrition
- Iron-rich foods pair well with vitamin C
- Don't rely too heavily on cheese as a protein source
- B12 is still important if limiting animal products

What to know about lactose-free milk
Lactose-free milk is ordinary cow's milk with the enzyme lactase added, which splits the lactose into simple sugars your gut can absorb without its own lactase. That is why it grades clean on lactose and solves the bloating and cramps of lactose intolerance. What it does not change is the rest of the milk: the proteins casein and whey are still fully present, graded high, so lactose-free milk is not safe for a cow milk allergy. It is the classic mix-up, no lactose but still very much dairy.
Watch for
- Lactose is pre-split by added lactase, so it grades clean and genuinely suits lactose intolerance
- Dairy protein is graded high: casein and whey are untouched, so this is not a milk-allergy-safe milk despite the friendly label
- Carries mild histamine and tyramine notes as an animal milk, which can matter if you are histamine sensitive
