What to know about chai tea
With chai, the black tea is the boring half. The spice blend is what changes the picture: cinnamon, ginger, clove, cardamom and black pepper are each salicylate-dense on their own, and together they lift chai to a moderate salicylate rating where plain black tea sits at mild. Caffeine is moderate and comes entirely from the tea, not the spices.
