Why eoe compatible diet checker matters
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) dietary management often involves eliminating common trigger foods including dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, nuts, and seafood. The six-food elimination diet is commonly used to identify personal triggers.
- The six-food elimination diet removes dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, nuts, and seafood
- Systematic reintroduction with endoscopy helps identify triggers
- Milk/dairy is the most common trigger
- Work closely with your gastroenterologist and allergist
- Elemental diet may be used in severe cases

What to know about pineberry
A pineberry is a strawberry. Not a relative and not a lookalike: it is Fragaria x ananassa, the same species as the red fruit in the punnet, bred back toward its pale South American parent so the flesh stays white and the seeds turn red. That matters more than the novelty, because the honest answer to nearly every pineberry question is the strawberry answer with one striking exception. On the graded triggers it sits moderate for salicylates and moderate for oxalate, mild for nickel, free glutamates and total FODMAPs, and clean for histamine content, tyramine, sulfites, nitrites, gluten, lactose and nightshade. Its histamine liberator column is unrated rather than clear, which is worth noticing given that red strawberry grades a strong liberator. The exception is the allergy question, and it is genuinely interesting: the main strawberry allergen, Fra a 1, is produced along the same biochemical pathway that turns the fruit red, so white-fleshed strawberries carry very little of it.
Watch for
- The white flesh changes the allergen picture, not the acid chemistry.Pineberry still grades moderate for salicylates and moderate for oxalate, so it is not a low-salicylate strawberry and it does not belong on a free list during a strict salicylate or oxalate phase
- The histamine liberator column is unrated, and unrated is not a pass.Red strawberry is graded a strong liberator and is one of the classic causes of hives from a fruit that contains almost no histamine itself. Nobody has assessed the white cultivars for that property, so read the blank as a gap in the data rather than as reassurance
- The Fra a 1 finding is real but narrow.Work on white-fruited strawberry cultivars found the allergen almost absent and a small group of strawberry-allergic volunteers tolerated them, and that is a promising result rather than a clearance. It was one cultivar, not pineberry specifically, and not every strawberry reaction is Fra a 1 driven. If you have a diagnosed strawberry allergy this is a conversation for your allergist, not a supermarket experiment
- Mild total FODMAP with a little excess fructose behind it and no fructan, GOS or polyol load.Pineberries are sold in small expensive punnets, which tends to keep the portion honest by itself
- Mild nickel and mild free glutamate grades, both minor, and both relevant only if you are counting a daily systemic nickel intake or are unusually glutamate sensitive
