About Black beans
Black beans are a high-FODMAP legume, and like other beans their standout trigger is galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), which ferment in the gut and cause gas and bloating.
They are also high in salicylates and high in nickel. The useful twist is that canned black beans, drained and well rinsed, lose a chunk of their FODMAP load to the can water, so a small rinsed portion is far gentler than a big bowl of home-cooked ones.

Often yes. FODMAPs like GOS are water-soluble, so when black beans sit in canning liquid a portion leaches out. Draining and rinsing the beans well removes even more. A small rinsed portion (around a 1/4 cup) is tolerated by many people who react to a full serving of home-cooked beans.
Why do black beans give me gas but chicken or rice does not?
Black beans are high in galacto-oligosaccharides, a fibre your small intestine cannot absorb. It reaches the colon intact and bacteria ferment it, producing gas. Rice and animal protein contain no GOS, so they do not trigger that fermentation.
