About Brazil nuts

Brazil nuts are clean on gluten, lactose and dairy, but they are high in salicylates and high in nickel, which is why they can set off reactions in people sensitive to either.

Their biggest catch has nothing to do with allergy: a single Brazil nut can hold more than a full day of selenium, so a casual handful pushes you toward selenium overload fast.
